Mulder Church is seeking our next Traditional Pianist. Mulder Church is a Global
Methodist congregation in the fast-growing community of Redland in Wetumpka, AL.
Our traditional worship service is at 8:00. This Traditional Pianist position will normally
play two or three Sundays a month with weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings,
accompanying our Worship Choir as well as congregational singing. Currently, the rate
of pay is $75 per rehearsal and $150 per service. The ideal candidate will have a strong
technical proficiency in playing choral accompaniment arrangements as well as special
services like Christmas and Easter cantatas and familiarity with playing hymns for

PAY CATEGORY: Part-time per event
PURPOSE: To provide piano accompaniment for the traditional Worship Choir, congregational
singing, and other aspects of the traditional worship service.
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Traditional Worship Leader
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be proficient in playing hymns and choral music.
PREFERENCE GIVEN TO: Applicants comfortable with a wide range of playing styles such as
lively and energetic pieces, pensive and reflective pieces, gospel songs, hymns, anthems, choral
pieces, and cantatas.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Establish and nurture good working relationships with staff members and volunteers to promote a spirit of teamwork in the church.
- Coordinate with the Traditional Worship Leader regarding music requirements for worship services.
- Rehearse with the Worship Choir weekly on Wednesday evenings.
- Play preludes, postludes, anthems, and special music during worship services as needed.
- Support Traditional Worship Leader in planning the music for traditional worship services.
- Play for special events such as cantatas.
- Practice sufficiently outside of rehearsals to play and accompany properly.
